It runs in the family
True to the Rothschild family tradition of working to preserve and hand down the world's artistic and musical heritage, the Edmond de Rothschild Group supports the ongoing dissemination and innovation of these values.
That helps to explain why Banque Privée Edmond de Rothschild, which constantly strives for excellence by promoting a blend of expertise and open architecture, has been the official partner of the Sommets Musicaux de Gstaad since its inception.
A subtle blend of virtuosity and sensitivity
The Gstaad festival has highlighted the classical music world's winter season for over ten years, bringing together internationally acclaimed solo artists and up-and-coming talent. Virtuosity blends subtly with sensitivity to spawn delightful moments in a magical atmosphere.
Banque Privée Edmond de Rothschild has sponsored the Sommets Musicaux de Gstaad for more than a decade, promoting common values such as creativity, excellence and congeniality. These values form the basis of our ground-floor commitment as the festival’s official partner.
Support for young talent
Every year the festival takes on a new shape by offering a programme that celebrates instruments, music and a combination of veteran and young artists, the latter of whom have seen their notoriety grow after performing in Gstaad. Banque Privée Edmond de Rothschild praises them not only for their success but also for the unforgettable moments they have shared with us.
Edmond de Rothschild Group Award, won by Sophie Pacini
The Gstaad festival has highlighted classical music's winter season for over ten years, bringing together established and up-and-coming talent. We have added a new dimension to this purpose in the form of an Edmond de Rothschild Group Award.
The prize builds on our tradition of rewarding and encouraging a budding virtuoso each year by giving him or her the opportunity to record a CD with an orchestra. But it is much more than a token of good fortune: as a recognition of genuine talent, it paves the way for what we hope will be a long and prosperous career.
The 2011 award was won by Sophie Pacini, a gifted pianist who has thus been able to record a Mozart-Schubert album on Onyx Classics with the Deutsche Staatsphilharmonie Rheinland Pfalz, directed by Radoslaw Szulc. Ms Pacini will be present all week at this year’s festival, accompanying Dora Schwarzberg and one of the young violinists.
