Launched in 2010, this event has become the place to be for amateur and professional horse-riders competing in show jumping. Each year it draws more than 25,000 spectators. From 12 to 17 July 2016 this sixth annual tournament will feature over 350 participants from a score of countries.
In praise of competition
This is the only international jumping tournament in the French Alps and thus adds prestige to the town of Megève by giving pride of place to perseverance, the spirit of competition and the pursuit of excellence. The Edmond de Rothschild Award is presented to the winning contestant after roughly 30 competitions.
The Rothschild family's attachment to Megève is rooted in history. In the 1920s Baroness Maurice de Rothschild spotted the potential of this idyllic setting and undertook its development. Since then each generation of Rothschilds has innovated and contributed to Megève's success by combining top-flight sport with refinement and elegance.
The pursuit of excellence
The Domaine du Mont d'Arbois, the Group's flagship hotel complex, has continued to expand for decades. Its gourmet restaurant, the 1920, run by the young chef Julien Gatillon, was awarded as second Michelin star in February this year.
