In this respect, Roland D. Eberhard will be responsible for the management of the Alternative Multi-Management offering of Edmond de Rothschild (Suisse) S.A. He will report to Rick Sopher, Head of Alternative Multimanagement for the Edmond de Rothschild Group and to Craig Lewis, Head of Investments of Edmond de Rothschild (Suisse) S.A. Roland D. Eberhard will be in charge of promoting the Hedge Funds offering in Switzerland. Within the framework of his duties, he will aim to promote and develop the existing and potential future offering of hedge funds in a way that will best serve clients’ needs.
With some 6 billion in assets under management, Alternative Multi-Management represents an emblematic class of assets for the Edmond de Rothschild Group which was one of the pioneers in this field. The Group, led by Georges Karlweis, was the first in the world to launch a Fund of Hedge Funds in 1969. Edmond de Rothschild Capital Holdings is currently ranked 1 out of 399 fund of hedge fund management companies for fund performance since records began in 2002, according to Investhedge.

Roland D. Eberhard has a Master’s Degree from the Swiss Banking School and has more than 30 years’ experience in Alternative Investment Management and financial markets. He started his carrier as a Project Officer at Citibank before becoming an Associate at Pictet from 1989 to 1993. Since 1994, he has held the position of Head of Alternative Investments at Julius Baer (1994-2000), HSBC Private Bank (2000-2003) and Basel Asset Management (2003-2016).
