Ariane de Rothschild was born in San Salvador. She spent her youth in Latin America, Europe, and Africa. She began her career in New York, in the trading room of Société Générale.
Ariane de Rothschild took charge of the family’s non-banking activities in 1997 and consolidated them within the Edmond de Rothschild Héritage brand. She modernized and significantly expanded the wine and hotel businesses, thereby continuing a proud tradition.
Ariane de Rothschild is transforming the family’s philanthropic activities, and making the Ophthalmological Foundation Hospital a global leader in “head and neck” medicine.
In 2000, together with Benjamin de Rothschild, she founded the first professional offshore racing team, the Gitana Team—an innovative group that has won every major offshore race in which it has sailed.
In 2006, Ariane de Rothschild joined the board of Edmond de Rothschild Holding, and in 2013, she transformed the family’s banking activities by bringing them together as one brand: Edmond de Rothschild. Under her leadership, Edmond de Rothschild has expanded its range, established itself as a 100% family-owned investment house, and achieved economic success and a deep cultural transformation.
Ariane de Rothschild has been the CEO of Edmond de Rothschild since 2023.
